IBEW NECA TECHNICAL INSTITUTE
The IBEW-NECA Technical Institute (IN-TECH) is the apprenticeship and education center for the members of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local Union 134. Founded in 1945 by the IBEW and Electrical Contractors' Association (ECA) of Chicago, IN-TECH, originally called the Electrical Joint Apprenticeship and Training Trust, has graduated thousands of apprentice electricians since its inception.

Welcome to the IBEW-NECA Technical Institute (IN-TECH). For nearly 100 years, the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local 134 and the Electrical Contractors' Association of the City of Chicago have shared a mutual interest in providing the electrical industry with a highly skilled workforce. IN-TECH is the culmination of this effort. Our industry has invested countless hours of planning and millions of dollars to provide training for our future workforce. The purpose of the Institute is to provide highly trained apprentices to our contractors, safe and efficient electrical installation to our customers, and excellent wage and benefit packages to our union members.
The fact that you are examining our website means you are serious about your future and are considering a career in one of the nation's most respected skilled trades. You also are looking at pursuing that goal at one of the most respected education and training centers in the world. IN-TECH offers apprentices the opportunity to train and learn using state-of-the-art equipment and the latest technology while working with some of the top contractors any where in the world. We also have outstanding instructors with extensive experience in the trades, and first-hand knowledge of the skills, training and abilities needed to succeed in this demanding and extremely rewarding career.

We are here to assist you toward that goal and will do everything we can to help you achieve it. But keep in mind that the apprenticeship program is demanding, with a rigorous academic schedule.
